- Tom Hull — Commissions
Square Inc. are recognised as being the company who introduced electronic, contactless debit and credit card payments to the United States, but their name is perhaps slightly less well-known outside the US.
In order to raise awareness of Square's presence within the UK and European markets, business-to-business advertising agency, Gyro: UK, commissioned a TV ad which would solely feature and showcase small British businesses, currently using Square's products to take payments.
Over three very full days, nine separate businesses were visited, filmed and photographed with the outcome being a stunning TV spot, directed by the highly acclaimed Rob Sanders. The final film, aptly-named 'The Thing-Ummy-Bob', can be seen here.
I was on set for the duration of the filming, working closely with award-winning art director Matt Allen, photographing the tradespeople and business owners to produce a wealth of content for Square and Gyro to use across multiple media platforms. The most public usage being a set of print adverts which appeared in specific trade magazines related to the featured businesses.
