For the first time in 30 years, the Scouts have launched a new age-bracket and subsidiary of the scouting movement, Squirrels, aimed at children between the ages 4 and 5.

Supple Studio commissioned me to spend an afternoon creating some lighthearted, engaging images of young, inquisitive children to set the right tone for the new aspect of the Scouts.

We created simple, believable scenes for the children to learn, play and interact with the leaders, with the images being used in public on billboards, as pull-up banners, on leaflets and online.

As someone who attended various ranges of the Scouts as a child, I felt a real affinity with this project. The idea that younger children should be given valuable, practical tools to aid their growth and development has complete relevance in the very technologically-led world in which we now live.
