With Cornwall being the UK's most well known location in surfing, it seemed only right to source one of the longest-standing names in British board shaping, Chris Jones of CJ Surfboards, based down in Newquay.

Chris has stories for days, so I quickly learnt that once his professional competing days were finished in the 1960's, he turned his hand to shaping boards. His schooling in the craft was at the world-renowned, Newquay-based shaper, Bilbo, Europe's oldest surfboard company.
