Exploration-based app, Komoot, allows it's users the ability to plot routes which take them away from the well-beaten and more easily found paths when embarking on a new adventure.
Rolling out from the Rapha Archive Store in Somerset, a group ride was put together and led by local cyclist, Gaby Thompson, who had the perfect knowledge of the various nearby terrain. The mostly off-road route took riders through the beautiful Somerset countryside, from tiny lanes, through forests on single track footpaths and even included a cafe stop at a farm which makes it's own ice cream, amazing!
I was invited along to capture the essence of a group ride, from chatting at the clubhouse before the start, taking in the challenges of the diverse surroundings during the ride, aiming to instil something of the camaraderie found when riding as a large group.
Powered by a very modern approach to route planning, this was an outstanding celebration of hard work, passion and the glorious British countryside, making the most of the late summer sunshine in all it's splendour.
